Beware! Memory…
If I could cross out memories.
If only Memory could be tamed.
If it were possible to torment the night
turn to stone.
Take it around the corner of the house,
Hide near basement,
So that the soul does not stumble and fall.
If you could forgive and not be afraid anymore
That Nervous Memory That Wants You
And don’t feel like the boss, among the clowns,
and don’t fall asleep in the middle of the night.
And don’t hide your face behind empty palms
And don’t squawk your ears
And don’t stand on a dirty empty platform
searching for meaning.

What could be scarier than memories
Those you can’t run from, can’t hide from
Those that you can’t forgive yourself, that you can’t grab with your hands
The ones you can’t disown
The ones that make us poison ourselves with vodka
The ones that make us breathe in cigarette smoke
Those that make our walk stoop
And quatrains are born
Those that make us wake up at night more often
Look out the window, spit poison into the curtains
The ones that tear pillowcases to shreds
crash…
…Time does not heal, but teaches us how to live, in short
Believe, forgive, endure, understand, etc
And my memory is the plague Kamikaze
Among the ellipsis…
Elena Almazova

Memory can be cruel, it doesn’t forgive
Cripples life, dislikes the weak, destroys
She sometimes happens to fall asleep
